FBC Deacon Scholarship Application
Eligibility: Applicant must be an individual that plans to continue his/her education in a college university or other institution that is approved by the selection committee. The applicant must be active within First Baptist Church or any of its affiliations approved by the committee. This scholarship application is open to graduation high school seniors or those currently enrolled in college courses.
Amount: The scholarship amount will be decided upon by the committee and may vary from year to year depending on the amount of applicants, their eligibility, and the number of scholarships the committee ultimately decides to award.
Selection Criteria: the selection criteria may also vary from year to year, and may include but not be limited to GPA, class rank, course content, extracurricular activities, future plans and church involvement.
Administration: The Board of Deacons will administer the FBC Scholarship. The decision will be based upon the review of the selection criteria. All decisions of the selection committee are final.
Application Deadline: to be considered for approval, each application MUST be turned into the First Baptist Church by the last Thursday in March of the current year of scholarship.
Notification: Announcement of the scholarship recipient will be made during church services in May and/or any other occasion deemed appropriate.
Instructions: Applicant must complete the below form in detail and to its entirety. It must be submitted by the last Thursday in March.
